Sci-fi Hallway

Here is a piece I just finished. At New Media Campus there was an assignment that involved creating textures for a sci-fi hallway setting. I didn't quite finish the assignment in school so I decided to start fresh and apply some new techniques I have learned since then. I am fairly happy with the finished project, although I didn't like how the doorway at the end of the hall turned out so I will probably go back and fix that eventually.

This was a project from school. The project was to recreate a video game setting as accurately as possible. I chose to recreate the opening environment from Metal Gear Solid. It's not perfect by any means but I was happy with it at the time considering I had just learned how to create textures. The texturing was somewhat sloppy though because I had not learned to UV texture yet so all of the texture placement was completed by tweaking with the planar mapping tools which took forever.

This is a little experiment I have recently been working on in Zbrush. I just started to learn Zbrush and it is awesome!!! So, I began this project by creating the base mesh in Maya and then exported it to Zbrush. I began to shape and detail the model which was a very fast process. The texturing was also done in Zbrush, with its 3D paint tools. Can't wait to post some more Zbrushed models up here!!
